Introducing Highland Fling

Stop emailing PDFs: share your scripts with Highland Fling to collect and collate feedback without ever losing control of your drafts.

Introducing Highland Fling
Fling or Flung; never Flinged.

You've written your first draft. Congratulations! You created something screenplay shaped. Now you need to share it with all of the smartest readers you know to figure out what is actually working about these 90-odd pages you've typed – and, more importantly, what isn't.

Enter, Highland Fling, a seamless sharing feature that enables you to send a short-lived web version of your draft to friends, colleagues, or teammates. Fling allows you to collect notes and comments from multiple readers simultaneously while controlling which drafts are accessible to those readers.

The Fling Beta is now available to all Highland Pro users!

Every note they make on your document is then automatically pulled back into Highland Pro for you to revise locally, in the new Comments View.

Like any good fling, it helps to dive right in. Here's acclaimed screenwriter John August to guide you through our latest feature:

Stop emailing PDFs! Share your drafts with Highland Fling to collect and collate feedback without ever losing control of your drafts. For each new iteration, you can generate another Fling in just a few clicks. It's a fling. It's not meant to be permanent. But it is meant to be useful and, hopefully, a little fun.

Highland Fling FAQ:

Frequently asked questions.

How does Fling work?

Click here for step by step instructions.

Do you need to purchase Highland Pro to receive a Fling?

No! You can fling documents to anyone regardless if they have Highland Pro. They will be prompted to create a login through gmail or your preferred methods.

A Highland Pro license is only required to generate a fling.

Is Fling a noun or a verb?

Fling is both a noun and a verb. “I’ll Fling it to you.”

(Around the office, we use “flung” as the past tense, rather than “flinged.”)

Can multiple readers see each other's comments?

You are able to customize your Fling settings to set whether individual readers are able to see each other's comments or whether you want them to be kept hidden. Either way, everything is easily accessible for you.

Is Fling a collaborative writing environment?

Fling is not a collaborative writing environment. It is designed to collect notes and feedback rather than co-author a document.

Is Fling an online editor?

Fling is designed as a portal for document notation. But, with Fling as a foundation, who knows what might be next for Highland Pro online.
